Social Security disability on verge of insolvency?

If you wanted more proof that if you aren't already looking for alternative means of income, (home businesses, etc), that you're only hurting yourself, I read this on AP News just last night.

Laid off workers and aging baby boomers push Social Security disability to verge of insolvency. Applications are up 50 percent as people with disabilities lose their jobs and can't find new ones in an economy that has shed nearly 7 million jobs.

We knew for decades that social security in general would run out as baby boomers aged, and it's looking that it may happen sooner than we think because of our current economy.

The days of going out and getting a job are soon to be gone - at least for a while anyway.
