Occupy Protesters Rally Around Wounded Iraq Vet
Ever since the protests started several weeks ago, there has been account after account, and a slew of live videos that showed the division between protesters, and wall street and local government.
One one side you have local officials doing as much as they can to limit and restrict the ability of protesters to occupy in protest of wall street and show their discontent with the system - and law enforcement is caught in between.
They have a VERY difficult job and they don't really have a choice in whether to perform duties or not. They go to work or lose their jobs. They have to both keep peace as well as protect and serve both sides of the dividing line.
While I agree with protesters, I've seen some of the video they put out and not all of it is peaceable assembly. Playing devil's advocate, I'd like to see the first half of the video to see what led to inciting a reaction like firing and gassing.
On the other hand, this incident has given protesters a symbol to rally around and will, in my opinion, bolster the protesting. After all, if an Iraq war veteran is on the streets protesting and getting hurt in his homeland... clearly there is something very wrong... with all of this.
I've said it before and I'm saying it again... 2012 is going to be one heck of an interesting year.
